My name is Rob Reisener, and I have been studying, hunting, and buying meteorites for 20 years.  If you believe you have found a meteorite, I am happy to analyze the sample free of charge. I usually advise people against paying high shipping costs on a large sample that may be a meteor-wrong.  It is best to submit a small piece, removed with the aid of a hacksaw.  Please let me know the circumstances of the find, and why you think it may be a meteorite.

Meteorite recovery projects result in the submission of numerous meteor-wrongs.  If you would like your specimen returned to you, I respectfully ask that you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope or equivalent postal funds. 

If your sample is a genuine meteorite, and if you wish to sell it, I can help you find a buyer.  Meteorites typically bring $100 - $200 per pound.  Fresh falls and rare varieties can be much more valuable, whereas large samples of common meteorites are less valuable per pound.
